358 People Contact North East Police Forces Over Abuse Concerns
More than 350 people contacted North East police forces in the last year to ask if their partner had a history of domestic abuse.
The requests were made under Clare's Law, which allows police to tell you if your other half has a history of domestic violence.
It's named after Clare Wood - who was murdered in 2009 by her ex-boyfriend.
Miss Wood's father, Michael Brown, says he's "quietly delighted" the law's being used, but fears the figures are only the "tip of the iceberg".
In total 99 applications resulted in information being shared by the force with the applicant.
