Free bus travel for jobseekers
A new initiative has been launched to help people get back into employment.
The Greener Journeys campaign has teamed up with bus operators and Job Centre Plus to help more than 800,000 unemployed jobseekers across England, Wales and Scotland be able to get to job interviews in January.
Both First and Arriva in our area are backing the scheme, something which Chester MP Stephen Mosley is welcoming: “Finding a job can sometimes be tough, but the figures show that there are jobs in Chester.
“Any steps we can take to help match people up to the jobs available must be welcomed, and I believe that this scheme will be greatly beneficial.
“I hope that Jobseekers across Chester will make the most of this scheme, and I would urge anyone who is seeking employment to check if they are eligible”
Further details of the scheme are available at the Bus for Us website.
