Plans For New Housing Development In Oxfordshire

27 February 2012, 13:00

Plans have been submitted for 2,500 homes on the old airfield in Grove in the Vale of White Horse.

The new development would be a mixture of affordable houses and flats and others to go on general sale.

The planning application also includes a district centre, which would include a supermarket, a library and other community facilities.

A secondary school, two primary schools and playing fields are also in the proposals.

Councillors in the Vale of White Horse are keen to hear what people think about the plans which are on display on the council website, at Abbey House in Abingdon, Wantage Civic Hall and Grove Library.

Cllr Roger Cox, the Vale’s Cabinet Member for Planning and Housing, said:

"We have been anticipating this planning application for some time.

"Now it has arrived, we are eager to hear the views of local residents on the proposal.

"It is hugely important that we take everybody’s opinions into account when deciding such a large project."
