Charity Shop Flooded

A Peterborough charity shop that raises thousands of pounds for Thorpe Hall Hospice and other places like it, has been flooded after a water main burst.

The ground floor of the Sue Rider Vintage and Retro Shop on Bridge Street in Peterborough has been left ruined.

It's the second year this has happened and it's even worse since the shop has just opened it's new bridal and furniture department.

Shop manager Sophie Waters has been telling Heart "I've been stuffing thousands of pounds worth of brand new and vintage gowns into black bin bags to throw out. Anything that touched the floor has to be thrown away."

She also appealed to the public not to forget about them. "We'll be shut for a few weeks as we need to rip everything up including the new carpets that had just been laid. But we will be back and will need even more donations."
