A man from Stamford has been jailed, after being caught dealing Cocaine.

50 year old Peter Ford [pictured-right] from Bath Row in the town pleaded guilty to supplying the Class A drug between May and June last year.

He was sentenced to three and a half years in prison, at Lincoln Crown Court earlier this week.

He also admitted to having an illegal weapon, along with possessing Cannabis and Crack-Cocaine for his own personal use.

He pleaded guilty to a further charge of possessing Cocaine with the intent to supply in July last year.

Lincolnshire police say the conviction and sentence show they are committed to tackling drug dealing.

Inspector Pete Grayson said: "?It's a credit to the hard work of the officers who worked on this investigation.

The sentence is a clear message that the Police and the Courts will not tolerate drugs in our county.

It shows that Stamford is not immune to the problem but it is an area that local people are very proud of and we want to make sure we keep it that way.

The officers in the area take robust and positive action when it comes to the use and supply of drugs and will seek to execute search warrants and arrest offenders wherever possible.

I would encourage anyone with information about the use or supply of controlled drugs to pass on that information to the police"
