E-Fit Appeal Over Livingston Assaults
Police investigating two indecent assaults on women in the same area have released an e-fit image of a man they want to trace.
The man, said to be aged between 25 and 30, was seen near a property in Orchard Place, Livingston in the early hours of Wednesday May 7.
He is described as being white, about 5ft 10ins and of thin build.
He has a long face, a large thin nose and short dark brown or black hair, and was wearing a grey sweatshirt.
Detective Superintendent Pat Campbell, of Police Scotland, said: "Can I stress that this male may have had legitimate reasons to be within this area at this time - and I would ask that if this is the case that the individual comes forward to the police in order to be eliminated from the investigation.
"I would also ask that any suggestions as to the identity of this male from the public is also forwarded to the police as a matter of urgency.
"We are fully committed to catching this perpetrator but I would advise women to take care when walking alone at night in the Livingston area, and to report any suspicious behaviour they may have noticed.''
The two incidents being linked by police took place in Livingston about a month apart from each other.
The first incident happened at about 5.20am on April 8 when a woman in the back garden of a house was subjected to an indecent assault.
In the second incident on May 7, a 27-year-old victim woke to find an intruder in her home, who indecently assaulted her before fleeing.

Holyrood's Sport Committee has warned the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) system "may not be preventing unsuitable people from doing regulated work''.
