Free car seat checks in Somerset

Somerset Road safety team is carrying out a number of child seat test events to make sure parents are fitting their child car seats properly.

Child safety experts will be on hand to answer questions and explain child safety seat laws.

Previous checks have show that many seats are the wrong sizes and not compatible with the vehicle.

Under the law the driver is legally responsible for ensuring that children in the car are correctly restrained.

The law requires all Children travelling in cars to use the correct child restraint until they are 12 years old or 135cm in height.

The events will be held between 10am and 2pm
