BMX Rider Seriously Injured In Southampton

A 61-year-old cyclist is in a serious condition in hospital following a collision with a car in Southampton.

The man received elbow, hip and head injuries after his BMX left the pavement in Union Road, Northam, and collided with the front nearside of a Nissan Micra.
 
The incident happened shortly before 7pm on Monday, August 30th 2010.
 
The cyclist, who is a local man, was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
 
The driver, a 29-year-old man from Bitterne, was not injured.
 
Witnesses to the crash or anyone with any information, is asked to call PC John Crowe at Totton Roads Policing Unit on 101.
