Body Found By Cliffs Is southampton Man
The body of a walker has been found on a cliff face on a mountain in North Wales.
Police said it is believed to be a 48-year-old man from the Southampton area, who fell while out walking on Cader Idris in Gwynedd, a peak popular with walkers in the Snowdonia National Park.
He was reported missing on Saturday night and his body found at 9am today. He was taken by helicopter to Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital in Bangor, but was pronounced dead. No formal identification has taken place yet.
A spokeswoman for North Wales Police, said:
''A body of a 48 year old man from the Southampton area was found this morning on a cliff face on Cader Idris.
''It is believed to the body of the man who was reported missing last night.
''A search of the Cader Idris area was launched last night and the body was found at around 9am this morning. It is thought he fell while out walking.
''The man was airlifted to Ysbyty Gwynedd but was sadly pronounced dead.''
A bomb disposal team was called to Gillam Road in Kinson after household items were set alight outside.
Tens of thousands of people lined the harbour to welcome HMS Queen Elizabeth to her home port for the first time.
Lanes will be added on Junction 9 slip roads, the Parkway South roundabout and Whiteley Way approach.
