More homes raided as police continue drugs crackdown in Southampton.
Two more homes in Southampton were targeted by police officers this morning, Tuesday, February 7, as part of a continuing drive to disrupt the supply of Class A drugs in the city and arrest those actively involved in their distribution.
Two men were arrested in the operation, codenamed Beaconhurst, from an address in Graham Road in the Nicholstown area of the city.
The second warrant was carried out at an address in Brintons Road where no arrests were made.
A 28-year-old man from Southampton and a 19-year-old man from Middlesex are currently being interviewed by detectives.
A significant amount of suspected Class A drugs, which has been sent off for forensic analysis, and other drugs related paraphernalia was also recovered in the mid-morning raids.
The two warrants executed this morning brings the total to more than 20 in the city during the past two months, with the promise of more to come as police continue to identify and target those who bring misery to local residents and blight our neighbourhoods through their involvement in the supply of illegal drugs.
Area Detective Chief Inspector Kath Barnes said: “I have previously warned those who choose to live this lifestyle that we would be relentless in our pursuit to track them down and bring them to justice. We are committed to do just that and would once more praise and acknowledge the support that local residents play in providing us with vital information.
"I would urge them to continue to tell us and be reassured that we will act on that information and gatherthe evidence required that allows us to identify and target homes and individuals we believe to be involved in bringing and distributing drugs across the city."
Anyone with information about those involved in drug dealing should inform the police to enable appropriate action to be taken.
Information should be given by phoning your local police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or by leaving information anonymously on the ‘Rat on a Rat’ website: www.ratonarat.co.uk
