Police were called to an address in Chapel Lane just before 1pm on Monday, April 4.

A 17-year-old girl had returned to her family home at around 12.30pm where she had disturbed an intruder. The man forced the girl to lie on a bed where he tied her hands and then left the property.

Once the man had left the girl was able to free herself and raise the alarm. The girl was shocked and disturbed by the incident but was otherwise unharmed.

The man is described as:

And wearing a loose fitting dark navy blue synthetic jacket with a logo on the left lapel and blue jeans.

He made off on foot from the premises with some jewellery, a silver Samsung mobile phone, a Bush cordless white telephone and a small amount of cash.

The items of jewellery taken included a gold wedding ring, a gold eternity ring with small diamonds around the band, a gold engagement ring with five or six diamonds on it, three pairs of gold hoop earrings, leaf-shaped gold earrings with diamonds, tear

DC Marie Greer, from Lyndhurst CID, said: “Chapel Lane is a fairly busy road in Lyndhurst with a regular flow of traffic as well as pedestrians.. Police are appealing for anyone who recognises this man or who may have seen an individual matching this description in the area that day to come forward.”

She added: “We would also like to hear from anyone who may have been offered items similar to those described for sale in recent days.”

Anyone with information about this incident should call DC Marie Greer at Lyndhurst police station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be left anonymously.
