Man Attacked And Robbed In Eastleigh

Police are looking for robbers who dragged a man onto the ground and attacked him in Eastleigh.

Between 1.30 and 1.40am on Sunday 2 March, the 21-year-old man was attacked as he walked along Desborough Road in the town.

He saw two men running towards him, who then dragged him to the floor. They threatened him and demanded his phone and wallet.

He was punched in the head during the attack. The men made off when a group of young people nearby approached to intervene. One of the group called police.

The man suffered a bruised and swollen face.

Detective Constable Susan Hampton is investigating:

“This was a violent and unprovoked robbery on a young man who was walking home from work. We’d like to hear from anyone who saw what happened, or who has information to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Hampton at Eastleigh on 101. Mini-com users can phone 18001 101. If you wish to remain anonymous, phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
