Man Found Injured In Southampton Tower Block Dies
A Southampton man's been charged with assault after another man, found injured in a tower block in the city, died in hospital.
Police responded to reports of an injured man at Copenhagen Towers, International Way, Weston, at 5.13pm on Saturday 20th April. On arrival they found a 56-year-old man lying unconscious in a corridor within the block. He was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he later died. A post mortem examination revealed he died from a subdural haemorrhage.
A 49-year-old man, Stanley Morris, of Copenhagen Towers has been charged with assault in connection with the man's death and is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates Court on Tuesday (23rd April).
Two other men aged 27 and 61, and a 43-year-old woman were also arrested in connection with the incident and have been bailed until July pending further inquiries.
The 56-year-old victim has been named as Alan Arthur of International Way, Weston.
Police say 41 criminals, sending Class A drugs into the city, have been jailed in the last year and a half.
It'll have Q&A sessions in all 19 of its blocks - and a programme to install sprinklers starts soon.
