The woman suffered serious injuries in the incident, which took place at around 5pm, and is due to be flown to Southampton General Hospital for further treatment.
A spokesman for the States of Jersey Police said: ''Officers are treating the death as a tragic accident and are now preparing a file for the Deputy Viscount (coroner).''
