Suspicious Man Scares Girl In Thornhill
Police are appealing for witnesses after a suspicious incident in Lydgate Road, Thornhill.
Between 4.30pm and 5pm yesterday (Tuesday, January 24), a 10-year-old girl had gone to the local shop.
She walked the short journey home, and as she reached her front door she was approached by a man, who spoke to her briefly and frightened her.
The man is described as:
-Aged between 30 and 40
-Between 5ft 5ins and 5ft 7ins tall
-Wearing a dark grey hooded jumper that had orange writing on it, and the hood was pulled up, and trousers
Inspector Phil Scrase said:
"We have a number of officers working in the area, carrying out enquiries to establish what has happened and who this man may have been. We'd like to hear from anyone who may know who this man is or who might have seen him yesterday, because we'd like to speak to him and find out what he said to the girl. It's thought he may have also been in shop before approaching the girl, so perhaps you saw him there or walking nearby? Anyone who can assist should contact police immediately."
