Inspector Phil Scrase said:

"We have a number of officers working in the area, carrying out enquiries to establish what has happened and who this man may have been. We'd like to hear from anyone who may know who this man is or who might have seen him yesterday, because we'd like to speak to him and find out what he said to the girl. It's thought he may have also been in shop before approaching the girl, so perhaps you saw him there or walking nearby? Anyone who can assist should contact police immediately."
