Men Bailed Over Hit And Run Death
Police have released two men they were questioning in relation to the death of 19-year-old Jack Bland in an apparent hit-and-run on Sunday, 11th September.
The men, a 19-year-old from Alton and a 19-year-old from Hook were arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.
They were released on bail until December 14, 2011 pending further investigation.
Jack Bland died at North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke after a passer-by found him. It’s believed he was struck by a vehicle as he walked along the A287 between Crondall and the start of the Odiham bypass during heavy rain, between 2.30am and 3.30am on Sunday.
Police are still appealing to anyone who has any information in relation to this incident to come forward.
Witnesses are asked to contact Hampshire Constabulary’s Road Death Investigation Team on 101, quoting Operation Hawthorns. Alternatively, contact the Crimestoppers charity line on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.
Officers say many of those were after people didn't secure their car properly.
James Hemming pleaded guilty to wounding with intent after a 17-year-old girl was badly injured in Fratton.
Dorset and Hampshire officers will be carrying out extra patrols until New Year's Day.
