Two teenagers have been arrested by police investigating criminal damage at Portsmouth Central Library.

Sometime overnight on August 18 someone got into the library on Guildhall Square and turned on taps in the toilets.

The resulting flood caused damage thought to be worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Following enquiries by Portsmouth CID, officers arrested two 16-year-old boys, one on October 18, the other on October 25.

They were questioned on suspicion of burglary and criminal damage and bailed until November 5 pending further enquiries.
