PC Kirsty Smith said: “This was a particularly nasty assault, committed by a mindless thug, and we would like to catch them as soon as possible. There were a lot of people in and around the area of the pub, and there is a good chance they know who is responsible for this offence.

“We would encourage anyone who witnessed the assault, or knows who the offender is, to come forward as soon as possible.”
