19-year old Tania Nicol was reported missing by her mother.  Tania left her home in Ipswich to work as a prostitute on the evening of Monday 30 October.
 
Thursday 2nd November 2006

First public appeal issued to the media asking for help to find Tania.
 
Wednesday 15th November 2006
25-year old Gemma Adams was reported missing.  Gemma had been working as a prostitute in Ipswich on the night of Tuesday 14th November.
 
Friday 17th November 2006

20-thousand leaflets produced for distribution to people in the area where the girls were known to work.
 
Saturday 2nd December 2006
The naked body of a woman was discovered by a member of the public in a brook at Hintlesham - it was confirmed to be Gemma Adams.
 
Friday 8th December 2006

The naked body of a young woman is found in water near to Copdock Mill by a police diving team - it was later confirmed to be Tania Nicol.
 
Sunday 10 December 2006
A member of the public reports a sighting of the naked body of a woman in an area of woodland at Nacton.  It was later confirmed to be the body of 24-year old Anneli Alderton from Colchester.  She was known to work as a prostitute and wasn't reported missing.
 
Monday 11th December 2006
Police appeal for another missing woman, 24-year old Paula Clennell, to contact them.  Paula is also believed to work as a prostitute.

Police appeal for a second woman, 29-year old Annette Nicholls to contact them.  Annette is also known to work as a prostitute.
 
Tuesday 12th December 2006

Police confirm two bodies have been found at Levington near Ipswich.  They are confirmed to be those of Paula Clennell and Annette Nicholls.      
 
Tuesday 19th December 2006
A 48-year old man from Ipswich was arrested by detectives at his home address.
 
Thursday 21st December 2006
48-year old Steve Wright from London Road in Ipswich was charged with the murder of Tania Nicol, Gemma Adams, Anneli Alderton, Paula Clennell and Annette Nicholls.

6th February 2007
The funeral of Annette Nicholls is held in Ipswich.
 
8th February 2007

The funeral of Paula Clennell is held at a ceremony in Northumberland.
 
12th February 2007
 The funeral of Tania Nicol is held in Ipswich.
 
15th February 2007
The funeral of Gemma Adams is held at Rushmere St Andrew.
 
23rd February 2007
The funeral of Anneli Alderton is held in Ipswich.
 
21st March 2007
Steve Wright, of London Road in Ipswich appears in court and enters a not guilty plea to the charges.
 
14th January 2008
Steve Wright stands trial at Ipswich Crown Court.

21st February 2008
Steve Wright found guilty of five murders after jury deliberated for 8 hours.

22nd February 2008
Steve Wright is sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court. He's given a life order, meaning he would never be released from jail.
