The Maritime Ipswich Festival 2012

Last year Maritime Ipswich played host to over 55 000 people and this year it is extending over two days with most of the activity free. It is a superb family day out.

Come down to the Waterfront and enjoy a variety of water activities, including river cruises, visiting vessels old and new to clamber over, water racing and costumed re-enactments from the Georgian period on the marina.

There’s the Ipswich Beer Festival, a Music and Craft Fair, Suffolk-themed Food and Drink Court and Ghost Walks.

Look out for colourful entertainers, market, live music from buskers, open-air performances, demonstrations and free Fireworks (Saturday night) against a backdrop of impressive traditional, classic and working vessels. 

On Saturday, catch up with the Heart Angels and spin their Ship's Wheel of Fortune to win £100 in summer cash.
