Bury: Man Charged In Connection With Murder

A man's been charged in connection with a murder that happened in the early hours of Tuesday in Bury St Edmunds.

Suffolk Police have charged a man today, Wednesday 22 February in connection with the murder of a man in Bury St Edmunds.

Mark Turner, 48, from Green Lane, Cockfield has been charged with the murder of Robin Lionnet, aged 42 years from Ashwell Road, Bury St Edmunds.

Mr Lionnet was found collapsed in Ashwell Road in the early hours of yesterday morning, Tuesday 21 February and was taken to West Suffolk Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

A post mortem examination was carried out yesterday afternoon, where it initially appears that Mr Lionnet died as a result of a stab would.

Mark Turner is remanded in custody at the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre and will appear before Bury St Edmunds Magistrates Court tomorrow, Thursday 23 February.

A cordon remains in place at Ashwell Road while officers continue with their investigation.
