Clare: Person Rescued from Car in Floods

The Fire Service have had to rescue someone trapped in a car after is became stuck in some fast flowing flood water at Clare in Suffolk.

The vehicle get trapped at the Causeway at Clare between Haverhill and Lond Melford.

The road is now in the process of being closed by the Police and Highways Agency with the vehicle being left in the water as it is too dangerous to recover.

The Fire Service  says if you find yourself trapped in a vehicle in flood water you are best to remain in your vehicle and await rescue by the Fire Service. Remove your seatbelt and open the window, only in extreme circumstances should you exit your vehicle before our arrival. If required to do so attempt to get onto the roof of the vehicle.
