Ipswich: Attempted Armed Robbery

A shop worker's been threatened with whats thought to have been a gun during an attempted robbery in Ipswich.

Police were called to the Spar shop in Woodbridge Road, Ipswich following a report that two men had entered the shop, demanded the till was opened and threatened a female staff member with what appeared to be a handgun.

The incident happened at around 9.45pm.

Both men left the shop without any money and the female staff member was left uninjured although shocked.

The first man is described as around 6ft tall and of stocky build, he wore a grey long sleeved top.

The second man is described as wearing a grey/dark track suit top with the hood up and matching tracksuit bottoms.

Both men had their faces covered.

Police are carrying out house to house enquiries and will be reviewing CCTV from the shop and surrounding area. Officers will also be conducting reassurance patrols in the area.
