Ipswich: Explosion Latest

Police say they are no longer treating an explosion on Friday night in Ipswich as suspicious.

Emergency services were called to the flat on Ellenbrook Green at 10pm on Friday 16 December to reports of the explosion, and the injured man was found at the property.

He is in a critical but stable condition at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.

Police and the Fire Service have examined the property and the explosion was found to be accidental. A 41-year-old man from Ipswich who was arrested on suspicion of arson has been released without charge.
