Ipswich: Police Given Extra Time To Question Man

Officers have been given until this afternoon to question a man on suspicion of attempted murder.

One man has been released on police bail following a serious assault in Ipswich on Friday 1 November.

A 55-year-old man and a 51-year-old man, both from Ipswich, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman in her 40s was found unconscious in a property in Garrick Way.

The 55-year-old man has since been released on police bail and is now due to return to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre on Tuesday 03 December.

On Sunday morning police attended Ipswich Magistrates Court and were granted a custody extension in relation to the 51-year-old until 4pm today.

The woman remains in a critical condition in Ipswich Hospital.
