Ipswich: Sexual Assault

An 18 year old woman's reported being sexually assaulted near Rendlesham Road in Ipswich.

The 18 year old woman says it happened on Thursday 26 January, between 10.40pm and 11pm when she was grabbed by the arms from behind and then indecently assaulted.

The victim shouted for help and the offender then punched her in the face and head a number of times before running off towards Bramford Road.

The victim left the alleyway and was helped by a 'couple' who passed by.

The victim sustained a lump to her head and bruising as a result of the attack.

The offender is described as a 'Chinese' man, aged early forties, between 5'7" and 5'8" tall, of a thin build and was wearing a black hat and black leather jacket.

Police are keen to trace the 'couple' who helped the victim, anyone who recognises the person described or witnessed the incident is asked to call DC Mireille Bailey from Ipswich on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
