Ipswich Town football club has had to reveal its new kit earlier than planned because of an online fault.

The new home, away and goalkeeper strips have been released after an interview was broadcast to subscribers of the Football League's official app after technical faults.

The Ipswich Player interview was scheduled to run live on Player early Saturday morning. Season ticket holders were going to be given the first look at the new kit on Friday.

Town’s Retail Manager, Lee Hyde, said: “It’s frustrating that a technical issue through no fault of our own has caused us to release the new kits ahead of schedule.

“We were made aware that the kits had been leaked online via Twitter and although frustrating, the feedback we have received from supporters has been very positive.

“So far the fans seem to really like the kit and it is great to see such a positive response.

“Lots of planning went into the scheduled launch evening on Friday at Planet Blue and we will still be going ahead with that, with TeamCard holders and Season Ticket holders having the first chance to purchase the new home shirt on the night of the event.”
