A man's tried to rob a shop in Lowestoft at gunpoint.

At around 9pm a man wearing dark clothes and a balaclava entered an off-licence on Lawson Road via the main entrance. He approached the female shop worker holding what appeared to be a handgun before throwing a black bag at her and demanding money.

The worker twice told the man there was no money at the premises. He then became agitated and pushed a scratchcard stand off the counter before running out of the shop and down Lawson Road towards Clifton Road.

He's described as a man with piercing blue eyes. He was wearing a dark grey jacket with its hood up, a full-face balaclava, black gloves, black jogging bottoms and white trainers.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to contact DC Denise Davey at Lowestoft CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
