Man in Hospital After Reported Stabbing

Areas of Ipswich town centre have been cordoned off and a 33-year-old woman has been arrested following a reported stabbing in Ipswich at around 3am this morning.

The woman was taken into custody shortly after the incident, which took place in the Angel Lane and Fore Street area of the town.

The victim, a 42-year-old man, was taken to Ipswich hospital with possible stab wounds. He is not thought to be in a life-threatening condition.

Anyone who was in the Angel Lane, Fore Street and St Clement's Church area in the early hours of this morning or who has any information in relation to this incident is asked to contact DS Michael Brown at Ipswich CID on 01473 613500 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
