Man Named After Fatal Lowestoft Crash

Police have named a man who died after a collision in Lowestoft in Suffolk on Monday 18th February.

Police were called to the scene, near to the Foxburrow Public House on Yarmouth Road, Lowestoft at just before 9pm, following a report that two pedestrians had been in collision with a blue Renault Megane car.

 

David Wright, aged 74 years from Gainsborough Drive, Lowestoft sadly suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision and was later pronounced deceased at the James Paget Hospital.

 

A woman in her 70s was also taken to the James Paget Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

 

A 27 year old woman from the Lowestoft area who was arrested in relation to this incident, on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released on police bail and is due to return to the Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre on 7 April 2013.

 

Witnesses to this collision are asked to call Sergeant Julian Ditcham at Suffolk Police on 101.
