Men With Axe Try To Rob Security Guard

It's after two men carrying a small axe approached the 34 year old security guard who was filling up a cash machine at the Asda supermarket at Stoke Park Drive in Ipswich at around 8 o'clock.

Police were called to reports that two men had approached an ATM cash delivery driver and threatened him with a small axe and demanded the cash box.

The men then ran off empty handed in an M registered grey/silver car with a large spoiler on the back.  This is believed to be a silver Toyota Supra index M558EAH which was stolen in Ipswich yesterday.

The delivery driver sustained an injury to his arm and has been taken to Ipswich hospital.

One of the males is described as black and the other Asian.  They were both wearing black clothing.

Officers are currently at the scene and an investigation is underway.  Anyone with any information in relation to this incident is asked to contact Ipswich CID on 01473 613500 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
