Nine Rescued from Flat Fire

Nine people have had to be rescued from a burning building by fire crews.

The fire broke out at the flats on London Road in Ipswich and crews were called out just after 3 am this morning.

Three crews from Colchester Road and Princes Street  stations went in after reports people were trapped inside the three-storey block.

They had to use breathing equipment to get inside and rescue a total of nine people, with one of them needing extra treatment in hospital.
