Pakenham: Woman Dies In Crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman died following a road traffic collision on the A143 at Pakenham near Bury St Edmunds yesterday evening.

Emergency services were called at around 9:25pm to reports of a two-vehicle collision between a grey Ford Fiesta and a black VW Golf. The 23-year-old woman, who was driving the Ford, was attended to by the ambulance service but died on scene.

The 21-year-old male driver of the VW was taken to West Suffolk Hospital with a serious leg injury. No one else was injured in the collision.
A section of the road was closed and diversions were put in place while collision investigators carried out their enquiries but it was reopened at around 3:45am.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or may have seen the vehicles driving prior to the incident to get in contact immediately.
