Sudbury Stabbing: Woman Arrested Over Attempted Murder

Police say a 46-year-old woman's been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was stabbed in Sudbury.

Police were called just after 11.15pm last night to reports that a woman had arrived at the West Suffolk Hospital with a number of stab wounds to her upper body.

Officers went to the hospital to find out what had happened.

The 43-year-old told officers she had been stabbed sometime earlier in the evening in Sudbury.

Three areas – two in Cavendish Way and one in Hoxter Way - are now cordoned off as the investigation continues.

The woman is still being assessed at hospital where she is undergoing scans to determine the extent of her injuries.

The 46-year-old woman, from Sudbury, was arrested a short time later and she is currently in custody where she will be interviewed by officers on suspicion of attempted murder.
