27 March 2012, 06:00

Towns across Suffolk are putting the finishing touches to their bids for a pot of cash designed to help make our towns more attractive...

A  million pounds is up for grabs under the Portas Scheme...with dozens of towns already signed up to try to get their share.

Framlingham, Leiston, Saxmundham and Aldeburgh are joining forces to bid for the Portas cash for things like better signposting, marketing and seating.

Its after the government asked shopping expert Mary Portas to come up with ways to get people to use their town centres.

Lowestoft is also gonna apply to the scheme to try and get people to stay in the town and see more of what it has to offer.

MP for Waveney Peter Aldous has been telling Heart its a real opportunity for the town...
