Brighton: Police Are Looking For These People
8 July 2014, 10:18
These are the people police want to speak to about a large fight in Brighton on the afternoon of April 27th.
And detectives need your help in identifying them.
Shortly after 2pm two groups of people were involved in serious disorder between The Dorset pub and Infinity Foods at the junction of North Street and Gardner Street. This serious incident is believed to have been in connection with the march and counter protest which had taken place on the seafront earlier on in the day.
Detective Inspector Vicki Harris, who has been leading the investigation, said: "Our attention has been focused on this nasty incident which happened in front of a lot of people out shopping and we are determined to catch these people. This behaviour was completely unacceptable and we will not tolerate it in our city.
"We know someone will recognise these men and women and we are appealing to those people to give us a name. Some of these people we believe to be from the Sheffield area, however some of them could be from eleswhere in the country.
"On the day we made 27 arrests connected to some disorder in the city and six people have been charged and a further six were fined or caution, and we are determined to bring those who were also involved to justice."
If anyone has any details on the fight or recognises anyone please contact police on 101 or email firstname.lastname@example.org quoting Operation Bearwood. Alternatively contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
