Indecent photo allegations

Police released CCTV pictures today of a man they want to trace after indecent pictures of a teenage girl were allegedly taken on board a train.

The 17-year-old victim noticed a man apparently trying to take shots of her underneath a table after she boarded the Ore to Brighton service at Hastings station in East Sussex.

British Transport Police (BTP) said the offender sat opposite her after entering her carriage, despite there being an abundance of empty seats nearby. Officers said the teenager was too frightened to move seats and the man eventually left the train at Cooden Beach station.

Detective Constable Rob Cager said: ``This was a very distressing and intimidating experience for the victim, who was put in a very frightening situation. ``Behaviour such as this is completely unacceptable and we are determined to find whoever is responsible.

``We are making local inquiries into the incident and if you have any information that could help us then I urge you to contact us. ``We also want to hear from anyone who recognises the man pictured in the CCTV images.''

Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP free of charge on 0800 40 50 40 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
