Fire investigators are telling Heart they still don't know if a big fire in Banbury was started deliberately

Firefighters are still working to keep cylinders involved on the Beaumont Industrial Estate cool - after it broke out at the disused Oak cash and carry off Southam Road at 20.30hrs on Friday 6th December.

More than 80 firefighters were called to tackle the flames, which spread to Gems Tool Hire store which contained cyclinders next door on Friday night.

A large number of gas cylinders, including acetylene canisters, were located next to the tool hire premises.

As a result, the area surrounding the fire was evacuated with a 200-metre cordon established.

At the height of the blaze a total of 15 Oxfordshire crews, with support from neighbouring fire services from Warwickshire and Northamptonshire, were tackling the fire.

Crews maintained a presence well into the weekend to monitor the situation.
