An investigation into how a fire which destroyed a building in Windsor started will begin once the area's made safe.

A building on Park Street has partially collapsed.

No-one was injured in the blaze which started before 22:00 yesterday night (Wednesday May7) and was tackled by more than 80 firefighters.

The terraced property, opposite the Two Brewers pub had been undergoing renovation work and was surrounded by scaffolding.

The upper floors of the building collapsed along with the surrounding scaffolding.

12 people were moved from nearby properties to temporary accomodation for the night.

Crews came from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, London and Surrey to fight the fire.

The blaze was brought under control around 3am.

Windsor and Maidenhead council's building control team is carrying out controlled demolition of the houses destroyed in the fire.

Utility suppliers were on scene earlier to isolate any power supplies and ensure there was no further risk. The area will remain cordoned off
