New Eating Disorder Centre in Reading

A new treatment centre in Berkshire focusing just on eating disorders has told Heart it'll help take the strain off the NHS.

The Caraway Clinic in Reading treats sufferers as outpatients so they'll still be able to carry on with things like work or school.

Patients take part in drama, art and dance therapy as well as one-to-one sessions with psychologists.

One of the sessions includes trips out to shops, supermarkets and restaurants, something sufferers shy away from or find difficult.

Co-Director Sharon Collinge says;

"Caraway Clinic offers the structure and intensity of inpatient treatment without the disadvantages associated with that level of care.

"Our clients are able to get the help they need while maintaining their involvement in work or school, hobbies, and relationships."
