Wakestock Festival

wakestock

Wakestock Gŵyl y Môr - showcasing the best in music, comedy, poetry, arts and food and drink from across Wales.

Wakestock began back in the year 2000 as a party in a car park for 500 people and a wakeboard contest during the day.

Since then it has grown to become a major festival attracting over 20,000 people and still takes place where it all began, on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales.

Over the years Wakestock has played host to some of the biggest names in UK music, from the hottest new emerging acts like Ed Sheerhan and Ben Howard, to the established heavyweights of the Welsh music scene including Duffy and Feeder.

This year's headline acts include Tom Odell, Frank Turner and John Newman.

wakestockWakestock also attracts the best wakeboarding talent in the world to this tiny corner of North Wales, who make the pilgrimage every year for their chance to take the title of Wakestock Champion.

The festival takes place on the stunning Llyn Peninsula in North Wales, tucked away beyond Snowdonia’s craggiest peaks, with the Irish Sea on one side and Cardigan Bay on the other. The Llŷn has a distinctive, unspoilt character that’s all its own.

This year the festival has evolved to become Wakestock Gŵyl y Môr (Festival Of The Sea). It takes the existing annual festival featuring the best in music and wakeboarding from around the globe, and brings it back to its roots, celebrating all that is great and good about its home, the Llyn Peninsula, Cardigan Bay.

The festival will come to showcase the best in music, comedy, poetry, arts and food and drink from across Wales.
