Cyclist Knocked Unconscious In Crash

Police have told Heart they are looking for anyone who saw a crash in Watford that left a cyclist unconscious with a broken jaw.

The incident occurred at around at around 11.50pm on Saturday 1st June when the cyclist, a woman in her 20s from Watford, was riding on Courtlands Drive and then Ashfields.

As she turned right into Poundfield it is believed a vehicle collided with her. As a result the cyclist fell to the ground and suffered a broken jaw and cuts and bruises to her face and body. She was also knocked unconscious and was only found when another motorist drove past.

The suspected vehicle she collided with did not stop following the incident and police would now like to trace that driver to establish the full circumstances around the collision.

PC Alison Elderfield, from the Beds, Cambs and Herts Road Policing Unit, added: “I am particularly keen to trace the driver of this suspected vehicle that collided with the victim.

“If this was you, or you think you know who it may have been, please get in touch with me as soon as possible using the police non-emergency number 101.”
