Police are trying to trace a driver who left the scene after his car struck a pedestrian.
The collision in Belswains Lane Hemel Hempstead occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning (May 8).
Police say just before 4 am a male pedestrian was walking on a footpath heading towards Belont Road when he was struck from behind by what is believed to be a Vauxhall Astra.
The pedestrian suffered head injuries and cuts to his face and arm following the incident and was taken to Watford General Hospital.
PC Jackie Miles, from the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit, said: "I am very keen to trace the driver of this Astra, which is believed to be the 1999 - 2003 model from mirror casing found at the scene.
"I am appealing for the driver or any witnesses to come forward. We are also keen to speak with any mechanics or garage workshop employees in the area who may have carried out repairs to this Astra which would have suffered damage to the wing mirror and housing on the near side of the vehicle."
Anyone with information should contact Police on 0845 33 00 222, or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
