Dog Attacks Woman In Wheathampstead
A woman has been bitten on her stomach by an out of control dog in Wheathampstead.
At around 6.15pm on Thursday, May 28, a woman in her 40s was walking along a footpath at the bottom of the allotments off Marford Road, which connects to the playing fields near the pavilion.
The woman stopped to let two teenage girls with two dogs pass but, as they did so, one of the dogs, described as a black Staffordshire Bull Terrier-type, bit the woman on her abdomen.
Police Community Support Officer Che Ponton is investigating the incident and said: "This was understandably quite a frightening incident for the woman but thankfully she didn't sustain serious injuries.
"We would like to identify the two girls who had the dogs at the time of the incident as quickly possible. It's believed a man may have been in the area around the time of the incident and he might have seen what happened. If this was you, or if you know anything else about this incident, please contact me."
