A fake Twitter account for Hatfield Library could be shut down after Hertfordshire County Council's complained to the social media giant.
The account @LibraryHatfield has posted a series of peculiar and sometimes rude messages about various subjects - including requests to people like comedian Ricky Gervais and Piers Morgan, and even Michael Jackson, to return overdue books.
One message said controversial Wikileaks founder Julian Assange was hiding in the Library - and that the Red Arrows were due to carry out a fly-past over the library to make the service's 50th birthday.
Hertfordshire County Council have told Heart they were first made aware of the account back in August, but made a second approach to Twitter to ask them to take it down at the weekend.
After investigating, the account's biog profile now states: "Definitely not associated with Hatfield Library in any way whatsoever, honest…."
