Man punched by gang in St Albans

Police are appealing for information and witnesses following a recent assault in St Albans.

It happened between 8pm and 8.15pm on Thursday, February 10 at Abbey Mill Lane between the Cock Inn and Sumpter Yard.

Two men where approached by four Asian men and two women who asked to see their watches and phones.

The two men walked away from the group and whilst doing so, one was punched in the face. The offenders then ran off towards Verulanium Park.

The victim suffered slight injuries to his face.

PC Barry Eldridge is investigating and said: “I would like to speak with anyone who saw the incident or has been approached by a similar group asking to see their watches or phones. Please call me via the non-emergency number, 0845 3300222, quoting crime reference number F1/11/604."
