A man has demanded money and tried to rob a bank in Hemel.

He went into the Metro bank in Marlowes at around 5.10pm on Monday (11th May) and demanded a member of staff hand over the money.

The staff member refused and then the man left. It's believed he was with another man.

The suspect is described as a white man aged in his mid 30s to early 40s, who was of an average build with slight light coloured stubble. He was wearing a black baseball cap, black top and blue jeans.

Anyone who saw what happened or saw the man before or after the incident should call Detective Constable Ailsa Turnbull on 01442 271046 or via the Herts Police non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference number D1/15/2928.
