An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering Leonne Weeks, 16, who was found dead on a path in Rotherham.
Is This Your Holiday Photo?
Police have released a picture from someone's holiday in America to try and track down the owners of an expensive camera.
It was one of 2,000 images found on a camera Surrey Police recovered after arresting a man on suspicion of going equipped for burglary.
Detectives reckon burglaries in the Caterham area of Surrey may be linked to other burglaries in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Sussex and Kent, so there's a chance the photo could be of a family from Hertfordshire.
Police have already trawled through 9,000 images found on another camera recovered from the house in Caterham in December 2011. They managed to identify the owner of that camera using the registration number of a camper van pictured in one of the photos.
However, despite going through all 2,000 images, officers have been unable to identify the family pictured in the holiday snaps from which the photo pictured right is taken.
Detective Constable Phil Leaver, who is investigating the incident, said: “We managed to trace the owner of one of the cameras by the registration number of a vehicle in a photograph.
"The camera belonged to the camper van owner’s girlfriend and she was delighted to get it back, as it contained holiday photos, as well as pictures from her 30th birthday celebrations.
“We would really like to trace the owner of this other camera as not only will it prove that it was stolen, but it will also reunite a family with their photos, which are irreplaceable and of huge sentimental value.
“We have been through all the images and while it is clear that the majority were taken on holiday in America, there is nothing in any of the photos which gives us any clue who they are.”
Anyone who recognises the couple in this photo, or with any other information, is asked to contact DC Leaver at Surrey Police by calling the non-emergency number 101 and following the options to call Surrey Police.
Alternatively, you can pass information anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 .
