Join Us At The Marlborough Mop

All the fun of the Marlborough Mop Fair is back this Saturday 4th October and the Heart Angels are there with Pizza Express & Sainsburys vouchers to be won!

Marlborough is getting ready to close the High Street for the annual Mop Fairs and you're invited to join in all the fun!

The historical High Street will be transformed with street entertainment, fairground rides, games, stalls and so much more to enjoy.

Little Mop takes place this Saturday 4th October followed by Big Mop on the 18th, with both days being chock full of fun for everyone.

Never ones to miss out on fun, the Heart Angels will be at the Little Mop on Saturday between 12 and 3pm.

They'll have FREE face painting for the kids, their camera to snap pics of all the fun and a great competition so you can win some fantastic prizes!

Simply find the Angels and spin the Heart Wheel Of Fortune, if you land on a 'WIN' space you'll win a great spot prize.

Plus everyone who spins the wheel goes into our prize draw for the chance to chance to win £50 to spend at Pizza Express and £50 to spend at Sainsburys!

And if you can't make the Little Mop, don't forget there's always the Big Mop on Saturday 18th October, so no one needs to miss out on this year's fun.

Why 'Mop' Fair?

The term 'Mop Fair' originally comes from way back, when hiring fairs were held. Local farmers and gentry came to the fair to hire workers to work as farm hands.

If you were seeking work you wore or carried something to signify your trade, so maids or house keepers would carry a mop!

Workers were hired at the Little Mop but if either party wasn't happy they went back to the Big Mop and tried again. Today, the Mop Fair is a chance to have fun and a traditional day out surrounded by the historical buildings of Marlborough.
