267 million investment in Swindon car plant

Honda in Swindon are investing £267 million pounds into production at the plant there.

The plant in Swindon this month have started to build the new Honda CR-V.

500 staff have already been recruited to produce a range of new models and engines.

Business secretary Vince Cable will visit the plant today (Thursday 6th September) to see the assembly line where the new CR-V has already started mass production.

By the end of the year production at the plant is expected to have doubled and in 3 years time production a year will be around 250,000 units.
